Normally roses will love a sunny location. But often those places can be rare in the garden. This is no reason for rose lovers to despair as there are a few varieties that will flower with 4 to 6 hours of sun. Please do not plant roses under large trees, it is better to choose partial shades that shift, with walls or hedges.
Be aware that roses will not flower as abundantly in partial shaded areas as in full sun exposure. The more there is shade the less there will be flowers. Furthermore roses tend to build up long shoots when planted in shaded areas as they are searching for the sun.
